How it started.

  • Angela, our Managing Director, never imagined she would find her life’s purpose in disability.
Her first experience with people with disability came through playing against the “special team” in school netball. It was a simple moment, but one that later shaped her understanding of inclusion and perspective.

A decade later, while chasing new job titles and challenges, Angela became an Operations Manager for a large disability provider. She quickly felt overwhelmed and underconfident, ready to walk away. Then her leader offered one piece of advice that changed everything:

“See the people, not the disability.”

That message became the foundation of how she led, learned, and built her career.

    Creating something better.

Through years of hands-on work and continuous learning, Angela built deep expertise in complex disability support.
She developed professional relationships grounded in mutual respect and trust, often across organisational boundaries.

These connections helped her see what worked, what didn’t, and what needed to change.

In 2021, Angela brought together four industry experts, each with specialised skills and unique perspectives, to create Supporting Potential.
They were united by a shared belief in the transformational promise of the NDIS:

“Real choice, control and empowerment for people with complex disabilities.”

But they had also seen how many providers were still operating under outdated systems that limited, rather than liberated, the people they supported. So they decided to step outside traditional structures and build something better.

Five years on, Supporting Potential partners with values-aligned providers who share our commitment to person-centred practice.
Together, we design efficient and effective service models that break free from bureaucracy and put people at the centre.

Who are we?

Supporting Potential is a strengths based team.

We build teams differently too. We find the right people first, then shape the role around their strengths.
Many of our team members live with disability and receive NDIS supports, bringing valuable lived experience to our work.

Working alongside people with significant disabilities in a profit-for-purpose business has not been without its challenges. But encouraging our team to speak openly, challenge leadership, and “tell the boss off” when needed has led to our most powerful learnings.

When people feel safe to be honest, to question, and to contribute their full selves, real inclusion and innovation begin.
